Sailability Sailing Requirements

Everyone who is sailing is to be assembled on the jetty at 10am sharp.

Everybody who is sailing is to wear a life jacket. The boat cannot leave the jetty until life jackets are on

The skipper of the boat is the leader and must be listened to, respected and above all his directions and instructions must be followed, as the safety of all passengers is in their hands

Support workers it is your role to encourage and support participants to engage with the activity as fully as possible to ensure that they get the most out of their sailing experience.

Speak to the skipper about your charge’s special preference and  what they may like/dislike.

Bring along a bottle of water and a piece of fruit. Also a well fitting hat that won’t blow off easily. Suggest a piece of cord with a safety pin at one end that can be tied to the hat and pin to a shirt. Participants should be prepared with a waterproof jacket and jumper in case the weather changes and sunglasses   to protect the eyes from glare off the water. Footwear should have soft plastic/rubber soles (preferably white, definitely not black)
