Basic Sailing 1&2 Courses
We run regular Yachting Australia Basic Sailing 1&2 courses during the summer for young people from 9 years on.
We have been running an 8 week course during school term 1 on Saturday mornings. Next year we may also run courses during the school holidays over consecutive days. This will depend on demand.
We are also planning to run a shorter course for slightly older children from 12 years on in November.
The program for next season will be posted during the winter.
Ongoing Training/Coaching
We aim to provide opportunities for young sailors to continue sailing and move into racing after they have completed Basic 1&2
There is coaching activity at the club each Saturday morning during the summer. The Mirror fleet meet for race coaching each Saturday at 9am. Whilst most participants have their own Mirrors there are a few Mirrors which the club own. These boats are available for the use of young members free of charge until they are able to obtain their own boats.
Next season we hope to have some new boats available for training. This will enable us to offer a similar coaching scheme in Optimists. This will also be open to anyone who has completed Basic 1&2. There will be a small charge each week for the use of the boats but the coaching will be free of charge.

Team Racing
We are hoping to run some team racing coaching next season in Pacers. As yet we have not aquired the boats but we are hopeful they will be available soon. More news will be posted as it comes to hand.
Try Sailing Day.
Try Sailing Day is a national event which we have participated in for some years. It is an opportunity to try sailing in a variety of different boats. Beginners are welcome and will have a choice of dinghy sailing or a trip in one of the larger boats. Experienced sailors will have a chance to sail in different boats. Its a great day out for everyone. The details will be posted here during the winter.
Competent Crew Training
The club racing fleet are always looking for competent crew members. It is a great way to spend a few hours on a Saturday afternoon.
We will try to organise some training next season depending on demand, so if you are interested please contact us with your details.
